SPECULATION MOUNTS AS TO THE FUTURE OF TESCO BUILDING

Signs have appeared outside the site of the vacant Tesco store beside Palmerston and there is mounting speculation as to the future of the building. The building is constantly being vandalised by local yobs who have turned their attention to smashing the skylight windows and ripping off parts of the roof. Tesco have a 90 year lease on the site from Queens and there are reports that the Dumfries club are in discussion with Tesco as to the future of the vacant building. Two signs have been erected rcently on the store site and also on the adjacent overgrown carpark. There is the name and telephone number including a website address of a leasing company Eric Young and Co. I have been unable to obtain any further information from Palmy but the rumour is perhaps Tesco are trying to sub let the building.

The vacant Tesco building at Palmy
