THREAVE - STAR CUP FINAL

THREAVE ROVERS romped to a 4-1 win over Nithsdale Wanderers to reach the final of the South League Cup. Rovers went ahead in the 2nd minute when Paul Cook shot home and then in 30 minutes Wanderers came back with an equaliser from Geoff Patterson.

But Scott Wilby shot home a penalty in the 55th minute after Andrew Donnelly was brought down and 10 minutes later Rovers were 3-1 up when Sam Warren's free kick flashed into the net. Two minutes from time Danny Dunglinson shot home from inside the Nithsdale box.

Their opponents next Saturday at Meadow Park will be DALBEATTIE STAR who edged out Creetown 3-2 despite leading 3-0 with 30 minutes to play. Scott Milligan hit two in the first half for Star and then in the 56th minute Jak Dingwall headed number three. Liam Muir pulled one back for the

Ferrytoon side on the hour mark and Chris Mellon set up a grandstand finish with when he headed home in the 84th minute. But in the last minute Mellon was red-carded.

In the South of Scotland League MID ANNANDALE pulled off a shock 4-2 win over Stranraer with Nathan Muir hitting a hat-trick and Adam Smith getting the other with Angus Cochrane and Roddy Cooksley scoring for the Stair Parkers.

In the other games Abbey Vale beat Heston Rovers 3-0, St Cuthbert Wanderers beat Fleet Star 7-1 and Crichton beat Newton Stewart 3-1.
