QUEENS HAVE GREAT CHANCE TO OVERCOME THE DONS

A nostalgic return for Macca.

In recent seasons a win at Palmerston by Premier League opposition would be considered a formaility however under the guidance of John Connolly, Queens are now formidable oppostion and will be not be cannon fodder for anyone. Aberdeen are going through a transitional period under their new manager Paterson and Queens will never have a more opportunist moment to claim a Premier league scalp. Queens have the players in Weatherson and O'Neill to inflict damage on the Dons and with the news that Andy Goram will be fit to play there will be tremendous confidence in the Queens camp. The key to success lies in the midfield area where Queens unfortunately have a soft underbelly. Bowey and Paton have a tremendous responcibility and hopefully they can unsettle the Dons in this area. Eric Deloumeaux is a class defender for the Dons and the news is that he may be fit to play along with Phil McGuire but their skipper Darren Young is doubtful. The pace of Darren Mackie will cause Thommo and company problems in the Queens rearguard but on paper I don't really see where the Dons goals will come from. New signings Steve Tosh and Paul Sheerin may

feature but I feel Queens have a real chance especially if the Palmy crowd gets behind the team. We also welcome Dons defender Jamie Mc Allister to a nostalgic return back to Pamy. I expcet a cracking cup-tie and with a vociferous home backing in a 5,000 plus crowd I would Queens to do close in beating the Dons perhaps by the odd goal. Perhaps most people don't realsie but tomorrow is Burns Night so perhaps we have history in our favour. Come on Queens lets do it for the IMMORTAL RABBIE!
