QUEENS FANS BEMUSED AS GRETNA HIJACK GUID NEIGHBOURS PARADE

The annual Guid Neighbours celebrations were somewhat tarnished in Dumfries as Queens fans had to suffer the embarrassment of two GRETNA sponsored vehicles displaying the 3rd Division Championship Cup taking part in the vehicle pageant. What made matters worse was that one or maybe both vehicles were provided by BORDER CARS who have sponsored Queens in the past. Queens chairman Davie Rae could hardly hide his embarrassment as the Gretna vehicles drove past the Municipal Chambers with the Lord Provost clapping his hands. Many regulars of the pubs on route hurled abuse at the vehicles and I question the judgement of the Guid Neighbours Committee for allowing Gretna to participate in the parade. I have also heard word that Queens were invited to participate but declined.
