Derek Lyle netted twice as Queen of South thrashed 10-man Stranraer at Stair Park.
The runaway Scottish Division Two leaders went a goal up after 17 minutes when Paul Burns fired past David Mitchell from the edge of the area to score his first goal since September 15.
Things went from bad to worse for Stranraer seven minutes later when Mitchell was sent off for a professional foul on Doonhamers striker Nicholas Clark in the penalty area.
Substitute goalkeeper Russell Cadwell's first job was to pick the ball out of the net after Ryan McGuffie placed his penalty into the bottom right of his goal, before Lyle added a third from 10 yards before half time.
Clark found the top corner from the edge of the area on the hour before Lyle grabbed a second from 20 yards 2 minutes later to seal a comfortable derby victory.
Queens played some great stuff on a difficult surface with Danny Carmichael outstanding but the real hero of the afternoon was the Stranraer substitute goalkeeper Russel Caldwell who had to face a barrage from the eager Queens forwards in the second half.
