QUEENS BOUNCED BACK AFTER THE AIRDRIE DEFEAT TO RECORD A VITAL WIN AT A BLUSTERY AND WET VICTORIA PARK,DINGWALL. THIS WIN NOW PUTS QUEENS A POINT CLEAR AT THE TOP OF DIVISION ONE.

Queens with a strong win in their favour took the game to County in the first half and Jim Thomson almost caught out Bullock with a free-kick. Dobbie was also unlucky when his shot was blocked after great work by Parrat. The Dobmeister was not to be denied however and scored from a 25 yard free-kick after he had been fouled by Dowie. County facing into the teeth of gale force wind tried hard to claw themselves back into the game and in form Craig should have done better than blast the ball over from 12 yards. Shortly afterwards Bell made a fine save to take the ball of Craig's head as Queens strongly defended their lead.

Queens had a tough time holding County in the second half who now had the wind and rain in their favour. Cammy Bell had several good saves as the eager County side desperately went all out for an equakliser. There were strong appeals for a penalty when Barr fell on top of the ball but the referee gave him the benefit of the doubt and waved play on. As the game wore on the wind seemed to die down somewhat and Queens sealed a famous victory towards the end when McGowan smashed the ball into the corner of the net to send the away support into raptures.

This was a hard earned win for Queens against a more than useful County side played in horrible windy conditions and the 150 or so diehard Queens fans who made the long trek north deserve a medal.

We are now off to Firhill next Saturday where we face another tough fixture against a Thistle team who hope to bounce back after a heavy defeat at Parth.

Doonhamers Travel Club Queens Man of the Match - Cammy Bell - He made several wonderful saves which kept Queens in the game.
