Queen of the South netted three times on their way to victory over Dumbarton in an entertaining encounter at Palmerston
Queens dominated in the first half and it was no surprise when defender Mark Durnan headed in Christopher Mitchell's cross to give Queens the lead and Gavin Reilly scored from close for the second.
Bob McHugh added his name to the scoresheet when he fired home midway through the second half.
Sons substitute Michael Miller pulled one back with a right-foot shot but it proved only to be consolation for Ian Murray's side.
In all a satisfying display and result for Queens against a good Dumbarton team who however lacked punch up front.
The defence superbly led by Durnan laid the foundation of victory for Queens.
