Queen of the South extended their lead at the top to 21 points with a comfortable 3-0 win over bottom-placed Albion.
Derek Lyle opened the scoring two minutes before the interval when he lofted thwe ball over the Albion keeper following some good work by Mark Durnan.
Daniel Carmichael went close to doubling the advantage on the hour mark but could only fire straight at visiting keeper Matthew McGinley.
The Doonhamers lost Lyle to injury shortly after but they did extend their lead after 76 minutes when Nicholas Clark swept the ball home from close range after the visitors failed to clear a Durnan header.
Victory was all but ensured five minutes later as Durnan finally got in on the act himself, heading home after a fierce free-kick from Mitchell had been parried by Albion keeper McGinley.
A comfortable victory Queens in the end over a stuffy Albion side who to be honest offered very little up front.
Queens Mad man of the match - Derek Lyle - His goal settled Queens and he was a constant threat to the overworked visitors defence.
