Queens Second Half Goal Blitz Sinks Annan

QUEENS EVENTUALLY OVERCAME STIFF ANNAN RESISTANCE TO RUN OUT CONFORTABLE WINNERS IN THIS FRIENDLY AT GALABANK

Queens included new signings Halliwell,Barr and Kean in their starting line-up and took command of the game from the start and only desperate defending and inspired goalkeeping by Annan kept Queens out. Queens squandered chance after chance and should have had a healthy lead by half-time with O'Connor going close on several occasions.

Annan resistance eventually gave way and Tosh put Queens deservedly ahead just after half-time. This opened the floodgates and further goals by Dobbie 2,Kean and Harris completed a comfortable win for an extremely fit looking Queens team. Everyone looked in good knick with the new players showing up well. Tosh,Thomson and MacFarlane looked in supeb form and with Dobbie banging the goals in it looks like an other good season is looming. On loan signing Jamie Adams looked impressive when he came on.

We must of course take the quality of opposition into account and Annan rarely threatened up front but their defence held Queens well in the first half but eventually ran out of steam in the second half. Thankfully for them they will not have to face teams of Queens quality in the SFL third division.

In all a splendid test for Queens and they can look forward to the friendly against Ayr on Tuesday evening with confidence.
