Paul Heffernan scored his first goal for Queen of the South as they recorded a narrow victory over second-bottom Dumbarton in the Scottish Championship.
The visitors started brightly with a number of early chances but could not find a way past keeper Robbie Thomson. Queens also were unlucky when point blank headers from Lyle and Higgin were blocked.
On 52 minutes Heffernan got on the end of Lewis Kidd's cross to head Queens ahead.
Miller could have finished it or Queens but was unlucky when his effort came off the inside of the post.
Dumbarton almost levelled late on when substitute Kevin Cawley hit the post then Willie Gibson also went close for the visitors in stoppage time but Thomson saved well..
