Alloa Athletic moved six points clear of Championship bottom club Livingston and to within a point of Cowdenbeath whilst Queens reamain right in the mix for a play-off place after a dour encounter.
Derek Lyle gave Queens the lead before the break, applying a finishing touch to Daniel Carmichael's cross.
Kyle Benedictus's free header hit the frame of the visitors' goal early in the second period.
But Kevin Cawley levelled the match and ensured a point apiece when he fired home from Ryan McCord's pass.
Queens with two key defenders missing did well to hold off Alloa in the second half and with results elsewhere going in their favour, remain well in the mix for a play-off place.
