Queen of the South stayed third in the Scottish Championship after a victory over struggling Dumbarton.
The hosts opened the scoring when John Baird converted from the penalty spot following a Lee Mair hand ball.
Dumbarton's Kieran MacDonald had a shot tipped over by Alex Clark before two goals in two minutes killed the game.
Mark Durnan headed in a second from close range in the 69th minute before Derek Lyle nodded in his fifth of the season.
Queen of the South's victory extended their unbeaten streak to four matches, keeping them seven points behind second-placed Rangers.
A comfortable win for Queens who didn't have a failure. Kerr and McShane dominated in midfield and our back four gave nothing away against a Sons side who moved the ball around well but were no threat in the final quarter.
