Steven Doris' two penalties were not enough to prevent Arbroath's 3-2 home defeat against Queen of the South.
Allan Johnston's table-toppers had already recorded two wins against their hosts this season, including a 6-0 victory in September, and went ahead after 22 minutes thanks to Nicholas Clark's left-footed finish.
Their lead was doubled six minutes later when Christopher Higgins found the back of the net with a low strike from the edge of the area.
Paul Sheerin's side halved the arrears on the stroke of half-time when Doris scored his first of the afternoon after Stephen McKenna had upended Paul Currie.
Mark Durnan restored the Doonhammers' two-goal advantage on the hour mark when he slammed home a close-range effort.
Doris still had time to score his fifth goal of the season, with the last kick of the game, after Ryan McGuffie had handled the ball inside the area.
