Stalemate at Palmerston Park
Queen of the South and Alloa played out a dull 0-0 draw at Palmerston Park.
Alloa had the better of the early exchanges, with Ryan McCord and Andrew Kirk forcing saves from goalkeeper Calum Antell in the space of a minute.
McCord came close again after 18 minutes with a right-foot shot that whistled past the right-hand post.
The home side came into the game with Michael Paton creating an opportunity to put the Doonhammers ahead after 31 minutes, but he fired wide from the centre of the penalty area.
Kirk forced a save from Antell after 39 minutes with a vicious right-foot strike that the Queen of the South keeper managed to parry away.
Stephen Simmons after 40 minutes and Declan McManus three minutes later had chances to put Alloa ahead, but both players skewed their shots wide.
A tense second half followed, with Derek Lyle having the best of the home side's opportunities, heading over the bar from the middle of the box after 55 minutes.
Daryll Meggatt could have won it for the visitors 71 minutes in, but his header from just six yards out was comfortably caught by Antell.
