A SEVERELY DEPLETED QUEENS TEAM WITHOUT FOUR FIRST TEAM REGULARS SLUMPED TO A HEAVY DEFEAT IN THEIR FINAL GAME OF THE SEASON AT EAST END PARK DUNFERMLINE

Gordon Chisolm
With several players walking the suspension tightrope and keeping his powder dry for the Cup Final.Queens' manager Chisolm fielded a severly depleted Queens team with several fringe players getting their chance.

Cheered on by hundreds of Queens fans in fancy dress the Doonhamers were the most likely side in the first but Stephen Dobbie and Paul Burns squandered chances before Scott Thomson met Stephen Glass's cross to open the scoring on 48 minutes after Grindlay made a pigs ear of a clearance.

Iain Williamson then latched on to Calum Wood's low cross for an easy close-range finish on 55 minutes as Queens fell completely out of the game.

Mark Burchill converted a Glass cross on 55 minutes then raced clear to score the fourth in the dying minutes as the Queens defence threw in the towel.

The hordes of Queens fans however celebrated at the finish with the players and everyone seemed relieved that all personnell came through the ordeal free of red cards and injuries.

There was however a painful reminder to Gordon Chisolm that he does not have the strength in depth in his squad and some new faces will have to be brought in during the summer.
