Queen of the South eased past Forfar to book their place in round three of the Scottish Communities League Cup.
Tom Brighton, Allan Johnston and substitute Nicky Clark all netted for the Doonhamers in a one-sided match at Palmerston.
The result is a boost for Queens who have a solitary point from their three First Division outings this term.
Forfar meanwhile have yet to win a league game this season are now out of both cup competitions.
Brighton got the scoring underway shortly before the half hour, steering Daniel Carmichael's cross past Forfar goalkeeper Adam McHugh from six yards.
Carmichael spurned his own close-range effort early in the second half, but his blushes were spared when Johnston drove home from the edge of the box in the 57th minute.
Clark poached a third three minutes later as Carmichael once again resumed the role of provider.
