STEPHEN DOBBIE CAME OFF THE BENCH TO SCORE A SUPERB HAT-TRICK AS QUEENS TRIUMPH AT CAPPIELOW

Queen's manager Chisolm fielded a changed side from their cup-tie with Linlithgow and very nearly took the lead early on through O'Connor.

It was the home side however who should have had a healthy interval lead with Stevenson and Russell missing some good openeings. Queens were also unlucky when Stewart just failed to find the net.

Stewart again almost scored for Queens just after the break but on the hour mark was replaced by Dobbie to tremendous cheers from the Queens faithful.

Dobbie had an immediate impact on the game when on 65 minutes he tricked two Morton defenders on the right and then squeezed a superb shot in at the far post from a narrow angle. Cappielow were silenced a few minutes later on 73 minutes when Dobbie again crashed in a 30 yarder to put the Doonhamers 2-0 up. Dobbie completed his hat-trick on 84 minutes when he got his head to a lovely cross by Paton as mayhem broke loose in the away enclosure.

This was another impressive performance by Queens as they slipped nicely into fourth place but they will have a tough time holding this position with the difficult trip next week to Dundee coming up.

Queens MAD man of the match - Who else but the superb Stephen Dobbie.
