Clark at the double
Nicholas Clark scored two late goals as Queen of the South held strugglers East Fife to a 2-2 draw.
After a scrappy start to the match, the Fifers broke the deadlock in the 36th minute when Steven Campbell fired past Lee Robinson from the edge of the box.
The visitors had a great opportunity to double their lead five minutes after the re-start when Ryan McGuffie fouled David Muir in the area, but Scott McBride's spot-kick was expertly saved by Robinson.
Billy Brown's men got their second in the 76th minute when Gareth Wardlaw bundled in from close range after good work from Collin Samuel.
The Division Two champions pulled one back in the 87th minute when Clark nodded in from six yards out.
The Doonhamers stole a point in stoppage time when Clark headed in his second from the right side of the area.
Until the final few minutes nothing much went Queens way despite having loads of posession and a hatful of chances. The never say die attitude of the side saw them through at the end to beat Gretna's point tally.
It has been a wonderful season and one which may not be repeated for some time.
