Doonhamers dominate as Albion brushed aside
Queen of the South extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Second Division to 17 points with a 3-0 win over strugglers Albion.
The hosts had the opportunity to take the lead in the 36th minute when Marvin Andrews was brought down in the area by Christopher Higgins, but Anthony Stevenson blasted the penalty over the bar.
Queen of the South punished Albion five minutes later when Nicholas Clark fired in from close range to give his side the lead.
The Doonhamers started the second half strongly and were awarded a penalty in the 67th minute when Alan Reid fouled Clark in the box. Ryan McGuffie's penalty was saved by Albion stopper Ryan Scully, but Derek Lyle was on hand to turn in the rebound.
Lyle then turned provider as he set up Derek Young, who tapped in from six yards out in the 76th minute.
