GRETNA JOIN THE SCOTTISH LEAGUE DIVISION 3

Gretna Football Club were today invited to join the Scottish League Division 3. Gretna officials were ecstatic at the news whereas the recently formed Airdrie United were devastated at their application being rejected. The Gretna club were founded in 1947 and have enjoyed some success in recent years notably in the English non leagues and appeared in the F.A. Cup first round. Ex Queens manager Rowan Alexander is the man at the helm and we offer him our heartiest congratulations. There are now three senior clubs in the South West which will further strenghthen interest in football in Dumfries and Galloway.
