QUEENS AIM TO CLOSE IN ON THE CLEYHOLERS

Mullen - in the
starting line up ?

Queens are hopeful of victory against Dundee tomorrow and further cut the points defecit in relation to rivals Stranraer who managed to scramble a surprise draw with Ross County at Dingwall on Saturday. It's getting very tight now and we are slowly running out of games so we must somehow get maximum points from this young Dundee team who had a hard Scottish Cup-tie on Saturday against Hamilton. No team news from Palmy as yet but I have a feeling McCall may have Mullen on from the start. A healthy crowd is expected to give the team plenty of backing so there should be no excuses. I take Queens to come out on top but it may be close.

History of the Queen of the South
v Dundee fixture

Queen o.t.S. play host to Dundee at Palmerston Park on Tuesday evening, looking to continue an impressive record. The The Doonhamers are clearly on top, having won 16 and lost only 7 of the 29 games.

The last time the two teams met at Queen o.t.S. was way back in the black-and-white days of December 1978, with Queen o.t.S. running out comfortable 3-1 winners in a Scottish Division One match.

Recent respective form guides

Queen of the South losing only 1 of the last six, but drawing 4 of them. The goals for column just outweighs the goals against over this period, 6 to 5.

Dundee have an average recent record on the road, remaining unbeaten in the last six, though five of those have been draws. Just 7 goals have scored in these games, though to be fair only a measly 4 have been let in at the wrong end.

Queen o.t.S. are hovering perilously just above the relegation zone, with 17 points from 26 matches. Dundee see themselves just below half way in the Bells Scottish Division One, showing a record of 37 points from their 26 games played so far,
