Young faces spell on sidelines
Queen of the South will be without experienced midfielder Derek Young for up to six weeks after he underwent surgery on a toe injury.
The 33-year old has been troubled by the problem for a number of months and opted for surgery in order that he can be available for the second half of the season.
Palmerston manager Jim McIntyre said: “We had hoped we could keep Derek involved but the problem needed fixed. He will be back in late January and will be a big player for us in the rest of the season.”
This perhaps explains Young's below par performances this season.
