ROSS VERY CLOSE TO WALKING AWAY FROM THE DOONHAMERS
reports Andrew Burns in today's Dumfries and Galloway Standard
Ross Cortbett resigned as Queens Trust Chairman on Monday after a row over the Rangers newco vote.
He claims that the Palmerston board's decision to vote in favour of Rangers being parachuted into the Scottish First Division forced his move.
He said "We canvassed fans for opinions and lots of people made it clear to the club how they felt but they quite simply ignored that".
A number of fans were left seething after the Queens board voted for the fallen Galsgow giants to be admitted into Scottish football's second tier.
Ross said he came ver close to walking away from Queens but indicated fellow supporters had talked him out of it.
A Queen's spokesman said yesterday " The Board of Directors would like to thank Ross for all his dedicated work with the trust in recent years.
He has worked very hard to assist and support the club during his time as chairman of the trust and we wish him all the best for the future. It's unfortunate that he has based his decision on something that is nothing to do with Queens of the South"

Meanwhile Queens prepare for an away Ramsden's Cup tie with newly promoted Dumbarton on Saturday and Queens Mad hope the fans put their differences with the club behind them and turn out in force as MAGIC tries and builds an attractive side for the future.
