Gordon Chisholm and Billy Dodds are the new management team at Dundee after agreeing to succeed Jocky Scott.
The pair leave First Division rivals Queen of the South to take over at Dens Park, with the league leaders three points clear in the promotion race.
Dundee will make an announcement of their appointment on Sunday evening.
Scott was sacked following the 3-0 defeat by Airdrie, bringing to an end his 15-month tenure in his third managerial spell at Dundee.
Dundee's failure to win any of their last four games means their lead at the top has been cut to three points.
Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall had also been linked with the Dens Park vacancy.
Chisholm took over at Palmerston in 2007, following a two-year spell at Dundee United.
BBC Radio Scotland's Richard Gordon broke the story during Sportsound and said: "They have been in talks with the Dundee board, everything has been agreed.
"They've signed a deal for the remainder of this season, and for two more years."
Their first match in charge of Dundee will be Tuesday's league game against former club Queen of the South at Dens Park.
This sadly is the end of era at Queens for Chisolm who is arguably their most successful manager taking them with touching distance of the Scottish Cup and also entry in Europe for the first time.
Queens Mad wish Gordon all the best and thank him for his services to Queen of the South Football Club. Meanwhile let's get behind Kenny Brannigan who will take over the reins at Palmy for the remainder of the season.
