JAMIE ADAMS has been assured he still has a future at St Johnstone despite being sent out on loan to Dundee.
The 22-year-old midfielder suffered a groin strain following his summer move from Kilmarnock and McDiarmid Park boss Derek McInnes feels he needs time to sharpen up.
Adams will spend six months at Dens Park but has been told he will feature in the manager's plans when he returns to Perth. McInnes said: "We just feel Jamie is still a bit behind the rest of the lads and will benefit from playing regularly.
"We brought him here on a two-year contract and he is still our player.
"We have options in central midfield and as we don't have a reserve team he might not get as much football as we, or Jamie, would like. At Dundee he will be playing week in, week out and that might not be the case here.
"Jamie will come back to us in January to play a role in the second half of the SPL season."
The big mid -fielder was a popular player during his loan spells at Palmy with Queens.
