TOM BRIGHTON is looking for a club after his dream of a deal with Dundee collapsed yesterday.
The former Clyde, St Mirren and Millwall striker played three games as a trialist for Barry Smith's side last month.
He then waited for the club to come out of administration in order to clear the way for him to sign permanently.
Accountant Bryan Jackson has begun the process of handing Dundee back to the directors but on Monday failed in a bid to have their transfer embargo overturned by the SFL.
That means even though Brighton wants to stay and Smith is desperate to sign him he cannot play for Dundee again this season.
Brighton said: "When the club started coming out of administration I got a bit of hope but it's frustrating to hear a deal can't happen.
"It's a strange one because the manager wants me to sign and I would love to play but it's impossible.
"Now I just have to get on the phone again and start speaking to clubs to see if anyone is interested."
Smith said: "It's really disappointing that Tam will now go to someone else and score goals."
