Banners and signs advertising the World Cup have decorated Workington for some weeks now, but this isn't a town that needs much encouragement to get excited by league.
Two of club side Workington Town's players have made it into the Scotland side to face Tonga and that's bound to drum up more local support for Scotland.
Locals, councillors, tourism bosses and the Scottish coach Steve McCormack have all made repeated references to how big rugby league is in Cumbria, and with around 6,000 tickets sold for each game, the numbers would back that up.
League is the big game here, and people are both glad and excited their love for the sport has been recognised.
Scotland went on to shock th Rugby League World with a 26 - 24 win over more fancied rivals Tonga much to the delight of 7630 Cumbrians who have overnight become Scotland supporters.
Scotland can make history on Sunday by beating Italy at Workington where tickets are still available.
