BROWN FERGUSON admits watching sorry Stenny ship seven goals was one of the most embarrassing moments of his career.
Queens ran riot as they made it eight wins in 10 games to book their place in Tuesday’s fourth round draw.
They could easily have hit double figures as Stephen Dobbie and Steven Rigg each grabbed a brace, with single strikes from Dale Hilson and Grant Anderson plus a Derek Lyle penalty before Alan Cook notched a late consolation for the visitors.
To add insult to injury, Cook’s fine free-kick was applauded by the home support. Warriors boss Ferguson said: “It’s one of the most embarrassing days I’ve had in football.
"People saw a fragile team, low on confidence and in Queens we saw the exact opposite.
“To get our goal clapped by opposition fans, if ever there was a message that tells the players how dominated we were that was it. It’s not acceptable.”
The floodgates opened after six minutes when Hilson arrowed a powerful strike into the far corner.
And four minutes later Anderson doubled their lead when he beat Stenny keeper Colin McCabe at his near post.
Stephen Dobbie continued his fine scoring run with a brace against Stenny
In 33 minutes Dobbie grabbed his first of the day when he cut inside and beat the keeper at his near post and before the break Lyle put the game to bed from the penalty spot.
Just 60 seconds into the second half, Dobbie made it five when he showed great strength to hold off Ross Meechan and fire home from 10 yards.
Dobbie then turned provider in 66 minutes when he slipped in sub Rigg who drilled the ball into the far corner. And Rigg wrapped things up 10 minutes from time when he pounced on Meechan’s error.
Doonhamers gaffer Gavin Skelton said: “Credit to the players for having the hunger to keep going because sometimes you can let the game go flat when you are 4-0 up at half-time thinking we’re through.
“We are disappointed to lose the clean sheet but I’m not going to let that affect this. I’m really pleased.”
