KENNY BRANNIGAN insists his Queens battlers will avoid the scrapheap if they continue to fight as they did against County.
With financial woes engulfing the club, Brannigan's men took another step towards safety after David Weatherston's winner.
Brannigan said: "We went about our business in the right way. What goes on off the park is nothing to do with us, we'll just do our job.
"If we keep doing that, none of them will have a problem finding a club next season."
County took the lead in 21 minutes thanks to a superb lob by Andrew Barrowman.
But Queens levelled after home defender Scott Boyd caught Daniel Carmichael in the box. Bob Harris tucked the spot-kick beyond Michael McGovern.
And the Dumfries side were ahead a minute before the break when Weatherston bundled home from a rebound after Derek Holmes' header came back off a post.
It was a scrappy second half with neither side able to create any clear-cut chances and Queens held on.
Defeat in the battle of the Alba Challenge Cup finalists plunged County into play-off territory.
It was also Jimmy Calderwood's first loss since he took charge of the Dingwall side. He said: "We lost the personal battles and the second balls - they were sharper to everything.
