QUEEN OF THE SOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB 2012 AGM TOOK PLACE AT THE NITH HOTEL, GLENCAPLE ON 26th NOVEMBER

Here are some of the highlights:

Chairman Billy Hewitson reported season 2011/12 as a failure with relegation to the SFL2. However the club managed to return a profit thanks to further injection of cash by the directors, cost cutting measures and proceeds from the two cup ties with Aberdeen - DGHP project still alive and details will be made public once final stages have been reached - Feasabilty study being taken as to the laying of two 3G Football pitches and restoration of utilities within the Old Tesco building -William Hewitson re-elected as a director - Chairman/Director roles re-defined - Mr Hewitson (Chairman) Mr Robertson (Communications/Operations Director)  Mr Paterson(Vice Chairman/Financial Director) - Club hoping to return a profit for the forthcoming finanancial year with no injection of cash needed from Directors - No immediate requirement for supporters representative to be appointed to the board - Toilet facilities for the disabled to be improved in main stand - Ladies toilet facilities to be upgraded in East Stand - Gents toilet at Portland Drive Enclosure to be upgraded - Queens Mad commented on deteriorating condition of Terregle Street Terracing and have been informed by Jim Thomson that work is on going to tidy the area up - Queens Mad commented on condition of the side windows on the East Stand but was informed that replacement would be expensive in the short time and not worth it - Board standing bye their decison as regards the YES vote on Rangers and base it on financial and business reasons and also the information received from the SFA - Queens Mad asked the manager the secret of his success and was informed that he has a close relationship with his players who train well and share meals together. Also extra time is being spent in the gymn - Concerns were raised as to situation with Willie Gibson and Kevin Holt who have not made the starting eleven in some recent games. Gibson and Holt are very much in Johnston's plans but competition for places is keen with injuries and lack of form playing their part - Kevin Smith due to make his comeback in reserve match at Palmy tonight ...
