Contractors were busy during the week digging up parts of the hallowed Palmy turf to instal a new drainage and sprinkler system.
Despite the galliant efforts of Kevan McCormack, Queens Senior Groundsman , the surface has deteriorated in recent years leading to complaints from visiting teams.
This is very disappointing as the Palmerston surface used to be the envy of most clubs in Scotland.
Queens Board are to be commended for addressing the problem and we will have a first class surface for the start of the new season.
