FALKIRK gaffer Steven Pressley has turned up the heat ahead of Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with Ross County by insisting the Dingwall club DO have the biggest budget in the First Division... REPORTS THE DAILY RECORD
At the weekend, Partick Thistle boss Jackie McNamara incurred the wrath of County manager Derek Adams when he stated they had more money than any other team in the league.
Adams hit back: "He should check his facts. His comments were disrespectful."
Now Pressley could be in for a similar backlash after agreeing with McNamara. He said: "Any team that finishes above Ross County will win the league.
"They are a very organised, experienced side and that's been reflected in six wins and only one goal conceded in the last six.
"They also have the highest budget in the league.
"I enquired about several players that they ended up signing and couldn't get near the packages offered.
"It's not a criticism of the club, it's the reality. If Derek wants to deny it, he can but Jackie was just telling the truth."
Meanwhile County boss Derek Adams insists he will not be drawn into a war of words with Falkirk counterpart Steven Pressley.
Adams said: "It saddens me a fellow manager would say such things. He obviously wants to make someone from Ross County bite but he is dealing with the wrong manager.
"I could say a lot of things about his situation but I have more dignity than that. We will go about our business quietly and effectively and respect every other team we play."
