QUEENS manager Gus MacPherson is delighted with the number of young players pushing for a first team place.
The Palmerston gaffer has been impressed at the performance levels of his young stars in both first team and reserve fixtures.
Kevin Holt has become a mainstay in the Queens defence, Gavin Reilly has come off the bench in recent weeks to good effect while Steven Black and Ryan Smillie have also caught the manager’s eye recently.
He said: “The young players have been doing very well recently and they should all be very happy with that.
“Gavin has come on as a substitute in the past three games and had an impact on each occasion.
“Kevin has played a lot this season and we have been very pleased with him.
“It has been proved that young lads like Kevin and Gavin are getting their chance as well as Steven Black.
