East Fife softened up the Stranraer defence prior to Queens visit Stair Park on Saturday.
Three goals in three second-half minutes killed off Stranraer.
The Fifers’ delighted assistant boss Gordon Chisholm said: “Scoring six away from home is fantastic – and it could have been more.”
Bobby Barr opened the scoring for East Fife after 23 minutes and then turned provider 10 minutes later to set up Paul McManus, who fired home from six yards.
Gareth Wardlaw prodded home No.3 in 43 minutes before Stranraer gave themselves a lifeline just on half-time when Steven Campbell diverted Chris Aitken’s free-kick beyond his own keeper.
Grant Gallagher and Sean Winter came close after the break for the home side before East Fife seized control.
Jamie Pollock poked home Barr’s low cross then added a second 60 seconds later to make it 5-1 as the visitors overwhelmed the Blues.
Wardlaw got on the scoresheet again, latching on to Lloyd Kinnaird’s short backpass to round Russell Cadwell and score.
Craig Malcolm pulled one back when he got on the end of Aitken’s free-kick but it was little consolation.
Blues boss Keith Knox said: “Defensively, I just don’t know what we need to do to keep goals out.”
He will have his work cut out to suppress a free scoring Queen's team on Saturday.
