Falkirk board can't keep dipping into their own pockets to settle bills, says Bairns managing director
FALKIRK managing director George Craig has revealed the club's board had to dip into their own pockets to halt a winding-up order - but has warned they can't keep relying on cash hand-outs ... REPORTS The Daily Record
The First Division outfit were last week shocked to learn of the petition from HMRC as they had been in talks about spreading their payment obligations over a period of time.
Falkirk had been hit with cashflow problems as severe weather conditions led to the cancellation of a string of home games.
The club honoured their debt with HMRC with a one-off payment but Craig admits the Bairns have to learn to stand on their own feet.
He said: "The board put a cash injection into the club but that can't continue. It's unsustainable."
