Stevie Mallan scored the winner as St Mirren moved away from relegation danger in the Championship by beating Queen of the South.
Mallan struck in the 25th minute, finishing with his right foot into the bottom right corner.
In a match of few chances, home goalkeeper Jamie Langfield parried a Jake Pickard header and then tipped a header from the same player over.
St Mirren's second win in a row moves them up a place to seventh place.
