Queen of the South recorded an emphatic victory over Dumbarton to claim their first win in three and stake a claim for a play-off place.
Only goal difference separated the sides ahead of kick-off, but they were level for just 17 minutes until Iain Russell headed in.
The home side's hopes of a third straight win were dashed when Derek Lyle's sublime finish put Queen of the South 2-0 up much to the delight of the large travelling support who were enjoying their away day in the sun.
And they put the game to bed when Kevin Holt found the top corner. with a cracker.
Dumbarton finished a well beaten side and but for poor finishing by a rampant Queens side the score could have been more embarrassing.
Queens bounced back in style after some recent adverse results and buried a fairly competent Sons side with three cracking goals.
