As Jim McIntyre settles in at Dingwall the ex Queens boss has inicated that he did not apply for the job at Ross County but was approached by Chairman Roy MacGregor who had received feedback from influential, unamed characters from the higher end of the game.
There has been no mention of whether Queens are due for any compensation from County as regards the move to Dingwall. It will depend on what sort of contract McIntyre is on.
McIntyre also said it was a tough decision to leave what he had been building at Palmerston, but added Ross County are three gears ahead of Queens and the facilities are superb at Dingwall.
There are mixed feeling amongst Queen's fans at McIntyre's departure with many are not that bothered and feel it's now an opportunity to appoint someone who will take the team further forward.
Meanwhile the search for a new Queens manager is on the way and Assistant Manager James Fowler will take over as boss for Saturday's visit to Falkirk.
