On the Official Website on Friday I appealed to our fans to turn out and support us for the last home fixture of the season. And I'm delighted to say they did turn out in force!
There were over two and a half thousand there and that was our biggest gate since we played Partick Thistle at Palmerston in early March. It was of course helped by 368 Airdrie supporters and I must say they really got behind their team.
I've got to admit that I did feel a bit sorry for their Chairman Jim Ballantyne and his fellow directors who must have thought they had three precious points in the bag, but we know ourselves how disappointing it can be to lose last minute goals. Just think of Morton and Ross County!
We didn't play particularly well but we're now up to 55 points which is the highest ever total since we won promotion. And we've still two matches to play!.
After Saturday's game I paid a visit to the New Bazaar for their quiz night. The place was 'packed out' and it was nice to see no fewer than 18 Queen of the South players in attendance.
Then it was over to Locharbriggs Social Club for their Travel Club awards, and again it was very busy. David Lilley, Bob Harris, Craig Reid and Paul Burns all picked up top awards and it was a great night.
We've only two games left now and our sights are still set on third place.
