Kilmarnock goalkeeper Cammy Bell hopes the club can embark on another cup run but warns that Queen of the South will provide tough opposition in the Scottish Cup.
The Scotland goalkeeper was born in Dumfries and enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Doonhamers in 2008.
During that time, Bell played in goal as the Palmerston side played in the UEFA Cup against FC Nordsjaelland.
And he has been impressed with the way the Second Divison league leaders have progressed under player/manager Allan Johnston.
He said: “I think they will come to Rugby Park full of confidence especially when you are winning games every week.
“They’ve got some really good players, we’ve watched DVDs of them and the manager has given us plenty of information about them.
“We’re definitely not taking it for granted that we will go through to the next round.
“Allan Johnston has done a fantastic job at Queens, he’s got some great young players down there and we will be very wary of them on Saturday. Nick Clark has been on fire and scoring goals every week so myself and the back four will have to be on top form.
“It would be nice to keep a clean sheet which we’ve not done for a few weeks now.”
Kilmarnock won the League Cup in March but were knocked out of this year’s competition by Stenhousemuir.
However the 26-year-old hopes the game will mark the start of another successful cup adventure.
He added: “We were very disappointed after the League Cup going out early doors. We know there’s a lot of SPL clubs playing each other so it’s a great opportunity for us.
"But first and foremost we’ve got to beat Queen of the South."
