THSTLE assistant boss Ian Maxwell admits his side will have to overcome the dodgy Firhill pitch if they are to win their first match in six games.
The Jags take on Queens without Simon Donnelly and Willie Kinniburgh.
But their biggest problem will be the pitch and Maxwell said: "Unfortunately our surface is horrendous."
Meanwhile, Queens boss Kenny Brannigan last night issued a plea to the fans asking them to lay off his threadbare squad.
Brannigan, left, only has a squad of 13 outfield players to choose from and said: "I'm asking boys to play and they're only half fit.
"They are doing me a favour but they're getting stick from the fans."
Quens will have McKenna back in the squad but Burns and Quinn are both out due to injury.
