Another Howitzer From Bomber Harris

Bob Harris again proved he was 'the man for the big occasion' as he blasted home a ferocious free kick on the hour mark to give 10 man Queens a share of the spoils at Dens Park last night. In a 'nail-biting' finish Queens held out for a share of the points which was richly deserved.

Young Marc McAusland 'saw red' as early as the 15th minute when he blocked Leigh Griffiths in th box and the deadly Griffiths himself slotted home the resultant penalty kick to put the homesters ahead. Queens however battled hard and did their small band of travelling supporters proud.

Caretaker manager, Kenny Brannigan, praised his exhausted troops at the end and added, "The team spirit was magnificent! To play 75 minutes with only 10 men and get a result against the league leaders was an achievement in itself. Our boys were really up for this one!

"I was a bit agrieved at how it all happened over the weekend, so perhaps Dens Park was a good place to go and show just what we can do.

"Our fighting spirit and character was tremendous and had to be admired. The boys were brilliant, digging deep with 10 men for fully 75 minutes. If we can play like that all the time we'll still be in with a decent chance of promotion.

"I thought Dundee were going to be awarded a penalty at the death but the linesman was brave enough to stand his ground and make the right call.

"I'm not quite sure what will happen next! I'll be carrying on until the end of the season in my present role and I'll then sit down with the Chairman and Directors and take it from there".

Bobby Harris was delighted at the way the team played in the circumstances and added, "To be down to 10 men so early in the game made it difficult, but all the boys gave 110% and I was delighted to get that equalising goal. We have a lot of respect for Kenny Brannigan as he's been involved in football for a long, long time".

Gordon Chisholm admitted, "Naturally I was disappointed with the result after going one up and Queens down to only ten men. We created a couple of good chances but didn't take them. We talked at half-time and said that a second goal would 'kill the game', but we looked as if we had ten men not them.

"A few of our players looked a bit nervy and maybe they are lacking confidence. But we've got to be bigger than that to win a championship and you must learn to handle the pressure that brings".

It was a great match for all the TV viewers who tuned in on the Alba station. We always seem to turn it on for Alba--remenber the thriller against St Johnstone last season.
